My ultimate favorite outdoor date activity is having a picnic! Grab a bottle of wine, some delicious cuisine, and a blanket and head to your local park.
When is the last time you took the time to enjoy nature? Don’t worry if it’s been a while! A great opportunity to enjoy nature and get to know your date more would be a walk in a local park or nature hike.
Want to experience a self-guided tour of your city on two wheels? Thanks to the health initiatives of many cities there are bike share programs available. Enjoy each others company cruising around the city. The Indiana Pacers Bike Share Program is offered in Indianapolis. There is a charge of $8 for a 24 hour day pass. Head to google to find similar programs in your city.
Who said a winery or brewery tour had to be costly? In Indianapolis, Easley Winery offers a free tour and $5 wine tasting. Do a quick google search in your city to find similar establishments!
PAINT PARTY AT HOME
Have you been to Wine and Canvas? or Mimosas and a Masterpiece? The concept of a “paint party” has taken steam and it costs $25-50 to per person for an instructor to teach you how to paint a masterpiece. Instead of paying someone else for the supplies, head to your local art supply store. For less then $20, you can purchase the painting supplies for two and find a free step by step tutorial on youtube. I participated in a paint party at home a few months ago and it was an awesome financially fit experience!
Head to your local coffee shop or Starbucks and enjoy a sip of coffee or tea with your date. Snag a spot on the patio to truly soak up the spring weather.
There are so many outdoor sports activities that won’t take a major bite in to your budget. From shooting hoops to getting laps at the pool to heading to the driving range, the list goes on for outdoor sports for you to enjoy on a date.
FREE MUSEUM/CULTURAL SITE
Museums can be costly; however, most museums offer 1 free night a week in addition to discounted prices on holidays! Learn something new while you enjoy the company of your date.
Between tickets, popcorn, and drinks, taking a date to a movie can add up quickly. Instead of heading to the local theater, visit a drive-in movie theater and bring your own snacks! Not only is it a more intimate experience, but you can also save funds on the concessions.
Giving back to others is always my cup of tea! Take advantage of common interests and spend an afternoon volunteering together. Habitat for Humanity and the Humane Society are just a few of the many great organizations that you can volunteer your time towards.
Bonus Tip. Have you visited Groupon or Living Social lately? Deal sites like Groupon and Living Social provide deep discounts on every day activities! In addition to the ideas listed above, you can score a deal eating out or to a local event for under $20.
